Thick, brass, one of a kind builders plate from the MV Olympic Progress. Cast Ship No. 281 1969 Shimizu Shipyard Nippon Kokan Kabushiki Kaisha.
This rare piece of maritime history is linked to Olympic Progress (IMO 6921933), a bulk carrier built in 1969 at Nippon Kokan Kabushiki Kaisha’s Shimizu Shipyard, yard number 281. Launched in May and delivered in September, the vessel embodied the power of mid-20th century shipbuilding, featuring a Sulzer 8-cylinder diesel engine and over 27,000 DWT capacity. With a service speed of 15.5 knots, Olympic Progress proudly sailed under several names during her career. This artifact offers collectors and maritime enthusiasts a tangible connection to the engineering excellence of Japan’s postwar shipbuilding era.
Collectable throughout the Globe, these original salvaged ships plates are from the engines and parts of the ships that are broken up. We have approximately 80+ builders and engine plates, please ask us if you are after a particular builder.
